All Storage Condition Control

(6 products)

Our Storage Condition Control range covers the two things that quietly damage stored stock: moisture and rodents. Silica gel desiccants go inside cartons, cases and sealed containers, while glue boards, snap traps and bait stations monitor and control rodent activity along walls and behind racking.

Check the pallets nearest roller doors and external walls first, since that is where damp and activity usually appear.

Protecting Stock from Moisture and Pests

Two problems damage stock quietly in an Australian warehouse: humidity and rodents. Both tend to be found at stocktake rather than during a shift, which is why routine checks matter.

  • Silica gel desiccants: inside cartons, cases and sealed containers holding paper, textiles, leather, tools or electronics.
  • Placement of stock: off the floor and away from roller doors and external walls where condensation forms.
  • Rodent traps and bait stations: along walls and behind racking, since rodents travel edges.
  • Inspection routine: check the same points weekly and record findings so a one off is obvious from a trend.
  • Quarantine: pull affected cartons early, because contamination spreads through a pallet quickly.

If cartons soften on the same pallet level each summer, look at the slab and the doors before the roof. Condensation is the more common cause.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do desiccants work best? + -
Inside a sealed space, as close to the goods as practical. Outside the packaging they saturate quickly and achieve little.
Where should traps go? + -
Along walls, behind racking legs and near doors and voids. Traps in open floor space rarely catch anything.
How do I spot a moisture problem early? + -
Soft carton corners, musty smell, dull or corroded metal parts and warped labels, usually first near roller doors and external walls.
